Polonaise carpets in the U.K.

Posted on 25 September 2015
We discussed the characteristics of the Polonaise carpets in a previous article, where we explain why they were mistakenly considered European rugs.

Despite not being European rugs, Polonaise carpets have a link to Europe, and United Kingdom as well. For example, a fragment of a Polonaise Carpet is displayed at the Victioria & Albert Musuem (London).

However, one particularly interesting historical fact is that the Persian King Shah Abbas I (the first of the Safavid Dynasty) gave some carpets to the English entrepreneur Sir Anthony Shirley in a move to impress him. Not only did he gift Sir Anthony fabulous handwoven silk carpets with gold and silver threads, but he also showcased them in a memorable presentation with six mules each carrying four carpets!

Carpets or rugs are the most practical, fashionable, and versatile choice for flooring, the fact is, it has been used and became one of the most desirable home furniture ever. Carpets or rugs are the best choice you can use for bedroom, living room, family room, dining room and other areas where you need warmth underfoot. Adding a carpet to a room can also disguise the damage on the floor and also hide other problems such as slippery or cracked floors. carpets and rugs have become our primary need for home.-firmatoele.nl
